Dyrham Park

We had a really great afternoon yesterday at Dyrham Park. They are currently working on replacing the roof that has been leaking for years and they are letting the public go up to the roof and have a look at it all - it was very interesting being up there and its the first time I have ever worn a High Vis jacket! I also happened to bump into an old friend who I used to share a house with :-)

There was also a great play area there where we happened to spot the man of the moment...

Christmas at Lacock

We had a lovely afternoon in Lacock yesterday, there were Christmas crafts going on, a Snowman trail around the grounds and there were lots of Christmas trees to look at as part of their annual Christmas tree festival. Lots of Christmas fun!

Chippenham Christmas Lights

Blood pressure on the rise, huge crowds of people all shoving and knocking each other out the way, wind and rain in your face, sweating, disappointment, kids crying, people shouting right next to your ear...... welcome to the turning on of Chippenham's Christmas Lights!! :-)

It was nice though to just about see Warwick Davies from about a mile away over the many heads of the crowd (you might just be able to see him dressed in red on the stage if you squint enough).. Ben enjoyed his biscuit though...

I Am A Shape!

Ben is a big fan of 'Mister Maker' (an arts and crafts programme on Cbeebies) so we jumped at the opportunity to go and see his live show in Swindon. It was great fun! (the guy with the elephant ears on in the pic below was as embarrassed as he looks!)

Dem Bones Dem Bones

All set for two Halloween parties! (I had to walk through the streets of Pewsham like this at 3 in the afternoon to get to a friend's house- got a few car beeps!!)

Halloween Trail at Tyntesfield

We took 'Skele-Ben' to Tyntesfield today and had a great time. It is such a fantastic place - loads of outdoor play encouragement with dens, huts, sticks, woods, rope swing, woodland play, treehouses etc.(and there are a few things for the kids too - ho ho!) and fantastic grounds and stately home to explore as well.

Autumn action at Stourhead!

The Autumn colours are in full bloom so we nipped down to Stourhead to enjoy them (but so did hundreds of other people too - it was busy!!). It was a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed the long walk around the lake - Ben did very well walking the whole route - it was a long way!
